PALLIATIVE REPAIR ON SAGAMU ROAD

I urge you to recall, that on 10th of May 2016, I reported on this platform, the adoption by the Lagos State House of Assembly, of a motion I read calling on the Governor of the state to direct the appropriate agency of the Government to effect the repair of the damaged portion on the Ikorodu - Sagamu Road, so as to ameliorate the sufferings of those plying it.

I am pleased to inform that the Lagos Sate Public Works Corporation has upon Governor's directive, commenced palliative repairs of the damaged portion of the Lagos State stretch of this Federal Road.

This is the 2nd time the State Government is repairing the road since Governor Ambode assumed office. The first time was sequel to a letter I addressed to His Excellency, Governor Ambode, on 30th June 2015 and subsequent interactions which yielded dividend on 22nd of August 2015, that the repair work started.
This time around, the portion undergoing repairs will be resurfaced with bitumen (tarred) to make the repair last, till when the Federal Government will re-award the whole length of the road (from Ikorodu to Isagamu) for reconstruction.

I am aware that our member House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson has raised a motion in Abuja in respect of reconstruction of this road by the Federal Government .

I enjoin all road users to please cooperate with officials and men of the Public Works Corporation and LASTMA while the repair works last.
I express appreciations to the Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudasiru Obasa and Other Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly for their support and cooperation while the Motion was been debated and resolution on it communicated to the Governor.
I assure you my constituents, that I will continue to fulfil my promise of practical representation as long as I hold your mandate in the legislature.

Ramadan Kareem.

Representing, Ikorodu Constituency 1
Lagos State House of Assembly
