HOUSE CALLS FOR DISSOLVE OF CARE-TAKER COMMITTEES IN THE STATE & CLEARE GOV NOMINEE FOR LASIEC CHAIRMAN

Lagos State House of Assembly today resolve to call on the state Governor Mr Akinwunmi Ambode to dissolve the Executive Secretary and other members of the care-taker committee of all the Local Government and Local council Development Area in the state.

Hon Wasiu Eshinloku the Deputy Speaker, who raised the issue under matter of urgent public importance said, virtually all the Executive Secretaries have shown interest in the fourth coming local government election, as this may lead to them losing concentration on their responsibilities as the Executive Secretary and service to the people.

The Assembly also resolved to call on the Governor to appoint Sole Administrators that, their appointment should not exceed three (3) Months except necessity demands and any such extension shall be referred to the Assembly for approval.

The House stated the Sole Administrators should only be saddled with the responsibility of paying outstanding debts and complete the ongoing projects in there respective local government or Local council Development Area as well as paying of staff’s salaries.

The house also screened nominee of the Governor for the post of Chairman Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), in person of Justice Ayotunde Philips (Rtd).

After comments and commendations of her activities at the time she was the chief Judge of the state, she was eventually cleared and her nomination was approved as the chairman LASIEC.
The house then adjourned to 13th of June 2016 when which is the day for her one year celebration.
